About
Diamond City Weekly covers the administrative side of living in Korea as a foreign resident — visa status, banking, mobile plans, taxes and housing. The goal is to put the requirements, the documents and the submission route on one page, with the official source linked.
How these guides are written
- Visa and tax articles cite at least one Korean government source.
- Korean-specific concepts are romanised with the original script on first mention — for example jeonse (전세) — and the romanised form is used after that.
- Fees, income thresholds and deadlines carry the date they were checked.
- No article states that an application will be approved or how long a decision will take. Those outcomes belong to the reviewing office.
- Calculators run in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted or stored.
Corrections
Rules change often, and sometimes without an English announcement. If something here is out of date, let us know and it will be checked and updated. Updated pages show a revision date.
